Joseph Hodgens (1887-1955) was City Councillor 1919-1921 and 1923-1944, and Member of Parliament for Palmerston North 1935-1946. Born in Nelson he worked as a builder and contractor in Palmerston North for 20 years. He also served on the Hospital Board, Power Board, and River Board for many years.
