Frits Jenssen (1840-1913) was Mayor of Palmerston North 1882-83, and a Borough Councillor 1877-1882. Born in Norway, he came to New Zealand in 1867 and later went into partnership with John Richter and Jacob Nannestad, as sawmillers. Frits Jenssen became manager of the firm’s sawmills in Hawkes Bay and died at Dannevirke.
