The Miranui Flaxmill was the largest flaxmill built in New Zealand, in 1907. The view looks across the water reservoir to the rear of the stripping shed. Outside can be seen the rows of hanks which have been stripped and washed. These will be left to drain overnight and then carried to the bleaching paddocks.
