Thomas (b.1897) and Ernest (b.1901) Davis were the sons of James and Harriet Davis who farmed in the Tiritea/Fitzhbert area c1897-1910, after which they moved into the Palmerston North. The boys were 'outdoors men', interested in hunting and fishing. Thomas later became a carpenter-builder in Wellington and Ernest a building inspector.
