A parade of stock and horse-drawn vehicles at the showgrounds, watched by the crowd. Commercial exhibits, in the background were also a large part of the show. The Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association was set up in Palmerston North in 1886, and the first annual show was held that year.
