This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 06 March 1961 "A party of 30 Canadian sailors, several of whom are pictured here, arrived in Palmerston North on Saturday from Wellington. The picture was taken at the Wellington-Hawke's Bay Pipe Band Contest at the Palmerston North Showgrounds and shows three Palmerston North band members (from the left) R. Kerr, A. Dawick and N. Keit. The last named is the City Princess in the queen carnival. On the right is Lieut.-Commander R.S. Campbell, who had charge of the party. The Canadians are from the three frigates Sussexvale, Beaconhill and New Glasgow."
