Children on the Cannon in the Square

This postcard shows two small boys atop one of the Cannon. The cannon was purchased by the New Zealand Government in 1878. In 1909 the Palmerston North Borough Council purchased two of the now unwanted cannons and displayed them in The Square until the 1950s.
