Mr H L Sherwill

Description

Hugh Lind Sherwill was a licensed landbroker and a land, estate, financial and insurance agent, establishing his business in Feilding in 1878. He also served as councillor and Mayor of Feilding on two occasions. When his first wife died, a window was erected in St John's Church, Feilding dedicated to her memory. He later married the widow of Douglas McArthur. Sherwill Street is named after him.
