This tower once served the teaching college of Massey University. In 2016 the university sold the Hokowhitu campus, and at present the land is being redeveloped as a housing block meaning that this tower will be removed along with other offices, lecture halls, and a marae.
The photo shows the tower from the car park side with the auditorium on the right and Te Ara building on the right
