Booklet written to commemorate the golden jubilee of Tiritea School, now Turitea School. Included is the beginning of European settlement, the establishment of the Fitzherbert Road Board and a description of early farming activity. The economic development of Tiritea district and social activities are described.
Included also are World War 1 and World War 2 Rolls of Honour, listing returned servicemen and those killed in action. The names of local men who fought in the Boer War are also listed.
Tiritea school opened in 1895. Included is a description of early school activities and photo of the annual school picnic. The booklet includes reminiscences and stories from people who lived in the Tiritea area .
