This photograph shows the a view of Church Street West, taken from around Main Street West. Directly ahead in the Municipal Buildings (now Square Edge), built 1944-1945. The Grand Hotel is visible to the right of that. The Grand Hotel opened in 1906 (still standing in 2014) - it is now a cafe and bar.
