Shown here is the exterior of the pergola which stood in the Victoria Esplanade – the Palmerston North City gardens. Development began on the Victoria Esplanade in Palmerston North, named to mark Queen Victoria's 60th jubilee, in 1897. The pergola was built c1916-1917 and demolished c1940.
