The top table set in readiness for the civic reception for Queen Elizabeth II, held at the C M Ross tearooms. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visited Palmerston North, as part of their New Zealand tour, 7-8 January 1954. The 'royal table' was constructed by Axel Hansen in his workshop (information from his daughter 2013).
