The Alwyn Physical Culture Club was a woman's only club opened in Palmerston North in 1936. It was modelled on American clubs of the same name and in consultation with Madame Lauri Alwyn, who visited at the time of inauguration. It was set up as a club for monthly meetings on health, beauty and exercise, but developed into a general fitness club. It closed in 2004.
