The Horner family were tenants of Blixt House, owned by Captain Preece, from 1888 until 1905. Blixt House was on Lot 11, Napier Road, Whakarongo, near Palmerston North, and demonstrates a Scandinavian influence. It later burned down. From left: Francis Horner, Mary Elizabeth Horner, Harriet Horner (mother, died 1899), Robert Horner (father, a veterinarian).
