This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 11 March 1961 "A large petrol tanker broke an axle in the Square yesterday morning and had to remain stationary in the middle of the road, for about a quarter of an hour. Fortunately, there was no heavy traffic on the road and the obstacle did not cause a great amount of trouble."
