A re-enactment of the first train arriving in the town was a feature of the Jubilee celebrations. Shown are the costumed “Welcome Party” awaiting the trains arrival, after which there was an official welcoming ceremony and “Transport Through the Ages” procession. The officials were portrayed by members of the local theatre societies.
