Henry Dittmer farmed on Scotts Road (Kairanga County) c 1904-1920, with his sons Herman, John, Henry and William. The area was also subsequently known as Hill Top Road and Motu Rimu. A Government grant enabled the road to be improved, and it was hoped to join Kahuterawa and Scotts Road. When the original contractor gave up it was taken over by Henry Dittmer and his sons.
