In 1989 there was a New Zealand wide reorganisation of Council boundaries. These Order and Agenda papers are for a Special Council meeting, being the final Council meeting to commemorate the abolition of the present Palmerston North City and the dissolution of the present Palmerston North City Council.
Contains an extract of the Manawatu Daily Times, 18 July 1877 on the proclamation of Palmerston North to be a Borough, and a list of past Mayors and Councillors and Council Managers, from 1877 - 1989.
